Happy Holidays! Thanks for all your support in 2009. We are growing the program and wanted to update you on our success and tell you about our plans for 2010.
We did our annual talent show in the spring and had a great audition at the Freedom House with the show two weeks later. This show highlighted a series of individual acts who together produced a fabulously professional performance. Ambar, an alumni of the Boston All Stars, debuted as co-Emcee; Bad Man Sound, youth owned DJ company worked with volunteers and peformers to rock the house.
We had a great street outreach fundraising performance for 6 weeks this summer where we went out to Newbury St. and talked to passerby’s about our program and asked for their support. We met 40 new donors.
So here we are ~ WOW! Thanks for helping us make this happen and we’re off and running into 2010. We are looking forward to the next Boston All Stars Benefit, recongizing the contributions of Roscoe Giles, Ph.D. and Joan DeCollibus to the Boston All Stars community.
We’re doing our next audition May 15th, 2010. Please come out and see what your participating in building or volunteer at the event.
In this holiday and gift giving season, we invite you to contribute to the futher expansion of the Boston All Stars program. We hope you will consider becoming a Friend of this exciting community-based work with a contribution of $250 or a supporter with a gift of $100. Contributions are tax deductible and we welcome gifts at any and every level.
Thanks for your support of a new kind of partnership in Boston between inner city youth and adults. Together we can make a difference!
Happy holidays,
Evelyn Dougherty, Director
